Although it is the smallest town in Tenerife, Puerto de la Cruz boasts splendid places, such as its historic centre or its extensive seafront, perfect for long and peaceful walks. It occupies the coast of the Valley of La Orotava in an impressive landscape dominated by the 3,718-metre summit of the Teide volcano on its horizon.
The flower gardens of Puerto de la Cruz, its black sand beaches, its shopping area by the sea and its picturesque cobblestone streets will captivate you. Sitting and people watching in the Plaza del Charco is a sublime pleasure. You can have ice cream in one of the nearby ice cream parlours. You have the privilege of seeing the waves break on the coast of San Telmo, with the spectacular Lago Martiánez in the background. All that makes up for a wonderful postcard.
The town enjoys more than 1,000 km of trails on the island, making it an ideal destination for active tourism. Its exuberant land and sea allows visitors to try a multitude of sports and activities, from paddle tennis to surfing and diving.
